A sharp increase in the number of meth labs over the past few months is bringing a call to action by all law enforcement agencies in parts of our area.
RAINELLE -
The bodies of Stephen Hendrix, his two young children and along with 23 year-old Amber Martin - - were found on May 26th - - nearly a week after family members say they went missing from their home in Rainelle. Now friends and family said their final goodbyes at their funeral on Sunday.
"I just couldn't see a person doing that to those little kids. it is just wrong," Andrew Bostic of Rainelle said.
Photos of 6-year-old Dakota, four-year-old Kaylee, father Stephen and girlfriend Amber Martin decorated cars at the funeral.. friends said the family will never be forgotten. Among the attendees, Bostic said not a single eye was dry.
They were just crying and I completely understand I bet you they are just so sad and I feel so, so so sorry for them, Bostic continued.
And as for the man being charged with this heinous crime-- 26 year old James Belknap is behind bars. For Stephen's mother she said that is where he belongs.
"I want him to live a long healthy life behind bars in a cage and I want him to know he took two innocent children away from their mother and he took a son away from a family that needed and loved him," Marguerite Hendrix, mother of Stephen said.
Belknap will get his day in court. But for now, family and friends are reflecting upon the lives lost.
