RONCEVERTE -
A weekend house fire in Ronceverte injured two firefighters when they tried to escape the flames on Monroe Avenue.
Ronceverte Volunteer Fire Department Chief Casey Morgan said seven residents were in the house when it caught fire around 5 p.m. Saturday, but all seven people made it out safely.
Morgan said two firefighters were on the third floor of the burning home when they tried to exit from a window, but fell to the ground.
"One of them is in Roanoke Carillion Hospital with burns to the upper part of his body, probably about seven to eight percent. The second individual is in Greenbrier Valley Medical Center with burns to about 10 percent of his upper body," said Morgan.
The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
