A bang was made when the History Channel's Hatfield's and McCoy's mini series hit television sets across the county week's ago.

After the release of the television series reservations for Theatre West Virginia's play, Hatfield's and McCoy's is up.

According to leaders at the theatre people from 16 different states have made reservations, which is unusual and attributed to the recent release of the television series.

"Part of the feud has slipped away, but Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton and the History Channel have brought that information into the forefront that it's being reflected in the reservations for this show," said show director Marion Waggoner.

Theatre West Virginia has been dealing with a decline in sales for years, but many are hoping the renewed interest with bring out more theatre goers.

Theatre West Virginia was allocated funds from the state of 210,000 dollars for this coming summer season to help them stay in business.

"Those who haven't seen the shows Honey in the Rock, Hatfield's and McCoy's and later on Rocket Boys, will defiantly want to get out and see them after this," said Waggoner.
