The John Henry Statue is almost complete and will soon have a new home by Wednesday.

Repairs to the John Henry statue are complete and the statue will be moved to the mouth of the Great Bend Tunnel in Talcott on Wednesday, June 13th.

The statue was removed from it original placement on the overlook off Route 3 on top of the Great Bend Tunnel on April 25th.

Members of the John Henry Historical Park steering committee are hopeful the statue's new location will reduce the about of vandalism.

Funding for the statue's repairs and relocation are made possible from the Federal Transportation Enhancement grant funds.
