Miners Trump Slippery Rock

On a muggy Tuesday evening, the West Virginia Miners topped the Slippery Rocky Sliders, 6-3 at Linda K. Epling Stadium.

The Miners scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to take a 6-3 lead and hold off the Sliders.

Joseph Williams was the only Miner to notch three hits. He also drove in two runs and crossed home plate once for a run.

On the mound, Sam Lewis went five innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out eight batters. Hunter Brothers earned the save.

West Virginia improves to 10-3 and wraps up its series with Slippery Rock on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
