The Beckley Art Group welcomed a well known water color artist to its studio on Thursday and is holding an art auction on Saturday.
Pat Weaver conducts workshops on the art of water color all year and she was teaching area artists some of the tricks of the trade.
"I love to see them learn and get excited and turned on to what I'm doing. That's what I'm here for to inspire them and if they really want to learn to paint to give them building blocks to paint," said Weaver.
The Beckley Area Foundation sponsored three art students and one art teacher to attend the workshop.
Up stairs in the art gallery 90 works of art are being put on display to be auctioned off.
Saturday June 16th at 6:30 p.m. an auction of original works will be up for grabs for the public.
Everyone is welcome to attend and get the chance to get one of a kind pieces.
Liz Fisher the co-chair of the event said there is a lot to look forward to, "they are all originals and they will be some big values and good buys."
Bids open up at 5:30 p.m. at the Cynthia Bickey Art Gallery in Beckley.
