Princeton Rays Release Roster; First Game Against Kingsport Set for Tuesday

The Princeton Rays Rookie League Baseball Team is announcing
their full roster today, Friday June 15th that totals 27 different players. Fourteen
pitchers, seven infielders, two catchers, and four outfielders break down this year's
new set of players. The list includes seven 2012 June Amateur Draft picks, one
Australian product, five players from the Rays Dominican Summer League team, five
players from the recently installed Venezuelan Summer League Franchise, and four
returnees. Those players coming back to Princeton are Left-handed pitcher Kevin
James, a 2010 draft choice from Wisconsin and right-handed Pedro Silvestre who
notched a 4-0 record last year on the mound, and finished with a 4.01 ERA.

The new Princeton Rays will officially start with three open public practices at
Hunnicutt Field that run from Saturday to Monday from 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. The
practices are open to all spectators free of charge.

The Rays then begin their season Tuesday under the headship of Manager Michael
Johns (3rd Season) with a 7:05 P.M. start against the Kingsport Mets. It is the opening
game of a three game series. The Rays then continue their home stand from June 22-
24 with three contests against the Pulaski Mariners.
