UPDATE: 5:32 p.m. Tuesday,
Officers from the West Virginia State Police, Division of Natural Resources and the Summers County Sheriff's Department are searching for a pair of men who ran off during an attempt to serve a warrant at a home along County Route 8, Bal Noble Road.
Troopers said the two men were doing work on the roof of a home where they were serving a warrant at around 2 p.m. There was apparently some dispute about the arrest with the subject's girlfriend when the men working on the roof took off into the woods.
Police are searching for Donald Michael Cales and Ronald Shockley.
Cales is wanted in Greenbrier and Summers County, as well as Maryland for larceny charges.
Shockley is wanted in Delaware for sex offender registry violations.
"It's very mountainous," said Sergeant T.L. Bragg with the W.Va. State Police. "There's a lot of deep hollows in it. Most of the territory is pretty hard to get through. Both the DNR and State Police have several people in the woods right now, with dogs, hoping we can locate them."
Law enforcement officers are not sure how the men are connected, but they are searching for them with K9 units.
Officers and troopers were still on the scene at around 4:30 p.m.
