Thursday, nine prostitutes and three "johns" were picked up and booked for soliciting sex, and one of the "johns" is allegedly a Wyoming County pastor.
Warren Reed also known as Keith Reed leads the congregation at Cook Memorial Baptist in Pineville, according to leaders with the West Virginia Baptist Convention.
Princeton City Police arrested Reed 51, for soliciting prostitutes on Mercer to Thorn Streets.
Princeton City Police Chief Detective John Howell said the sting took weeks to get nailed down and teamwork from other departments to get completed.
"It's a serious problem. We do have several prostitutes that work that area why I don't know. I can't answer that question. I think a lot of it has to do with illegal drugs," said Howell.
More prostitution stings will be conducted under the Princeton City Police Department in the near future according to Howell.
Representatives from the West Virginia Baptist Convention said at this time they can not comment on the situation or charges Reed faces until formal complaints are issued through the church.
Leaders at the Cook Memorial Baptist Church said they didn't feel comfortable talking with us, and also didn't respond to questioning if Reed was their official church pastor.
