A local church is inviting the public to kick off the summer right.

St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Oakwood Avenue in Beckley is hosting a Summer Festival Saturday, June 23, 2012.

From mouth watering food to games as well as top notch entertainment...it's sure to be fun for the whole family.

The festival has been running for about 40 years.

Admission is free. Food and games are affordable. The summer festival kicks off with a bake sale at       9 a.m. Other festivities start at 11 a.m.

All proceeds benefit the church and community.
