Over 500 folks in McDowell County are without access to their phones.
Emergency Services responders confirm that folks within the 9-3-8 exchange are dealing with phone lines down.
Officials are asking folks who have an emergency situation to go to their nearest fire department for help. Crews are on standby to assist anyone that needs help.
