Emergency responders were called to the scene of a train accident on Monday, May 20. A person was apparently hit by a CSX train in a remote part of Fayette County. The call came in at around 1:30 p.m.
The victim was apparently covering her head with a blanket to shelter from the heavy rain storms.

ALDERSON -
One of the newest additions to the Alderson Fourth of July Celebration is a 5K run to benefit Alderson Elementary.
Run for Snacks is a 5K run to raise money for Alderson Elementary's Snacks in Packs program.
The program assists local families by providing nutritious weekend snacks to elementary school students.
The race will be held Saturday, June 30 at 9 a.m. at the Alderson Public Library.
Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. and is $20 per person.
Race registration forms are available at various locations in the community including, City National Bank in Alderson, Fairlea, and Lewisburg, Fairlea Animal Hospital, and both Greenbrier Valley Fitness locations, as well as online at www.alderson4th.com.
Registration will also be held the morning of the race beginning at 7:45 a.m. and is $20 per person.
