Mercer County seniors bring the beach to the Brushfork Armory.

Senior Circle celebrated their 1st Anniversary Beach Blast with live entertainment, food, dancing, and a cake walk at the Armory on Friday.

Vendors were set up throughout the center to educate seniors about issues ranging from health care to assisted living.

"I think the difference between now and fifty years ago is the number of seniors we have. The quality of life has gotten better. People are living longer and so people are living a lot better in their golden years. This program is designed to accentuate that and help them have fun in their golden years," said Bill Hawley, CEO of Bluefield Regional Medical Center, a sponsor of the event.

The Beach Blast is hosted by Senior Circle, an organization committed to improving the quality of life of seniors in Mercer County.
