WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS -

The Greenbrier Classic is one of the newest events on the PGA Tour.

Only in its third year, it has caught the eye one of the biggest draws in golf, Tiger Woods.  His appearance at the fledgling event only adds to the anticipation as he comes off a historic win.

Woods is not the number one golfer in the world, but this is his number one visit to White Sulphur, and his first visit to the Mountain State.

He said that finally committing to the Classic was about timing.

"A lot of it is how good a golf course is," said Woods.  "You also have to have the right date for a lot of the players to play. We have tours that we play all around the world and so many different playing opportunities and its tough to make it all work."

Woods won last week at the AT&T National, which moved him into second place on the PGA all-time wins list. The 74-time winner is going to tee off on his practice round, Wednesday, July 4 at 7 a.m.
