As thousands across the Mountain State continue to recover from the devastating storms that ripped through the state on June 29, one group was in Raleigh County Monday, working to help restock area food pantries.

AmeriCoprs VISTA members set up all day in the parking lot of the Beckley Dream Center on Pinewood Drive early Monday Morning, taking donations of non-perishable foods that will then be distributed to food bands throughout Raleigh, Summers, Fayette, Greenbrier, Wyoming and Nicholas Counties.

"Everybody that's come to drop off has been really happy that we're here doing it and are more than happy to donate," said Program Coordinator Jake Krack. "Some of them who have freshly gotten power back, or are dealing with not having power still wish they could give more, but they're giving what they can right now."

The group was primarily collecting non-perishable foods, as well as diapers and formula
