Farmers Encouraged to Report Weather Damage to Federal Farm Service Agency

Posted: Updated:

There's a new announcement affecting farmers in West Virginia.

According to Commissioner of Agriculture Gus R. Douglass, West Virginia farmers should report losses due to storms and heat to the federal Farm Service Agency.

There's no program for livestock or bees with the Farm Service Agency, but Douglass says farmers should still keep records of any losses.

The commissioner said Congress is considering a farm bill that could make assistance available for livestock and bee losses.
