Food Drive Continues at WVNS Studios

Posted: Updated:

Thursday was day two of our statewide food drive and West Virginians were showing their support.

Ron Martin, with Grants Supermarket, donated 72 cases of water and 72 boxes of canned goods.

That will go a long way in helping those who have suffered outages.

Employees at 59 News are also doing our part to help restock food banks, along with West Virginia Media and the Governor's Office.

Crews were out during the afternoon filling the West Virginia National Guard truck.

We will be collecting bottled water and non-perishable food items through Friday.

All you have to do is stop by the WVNS studios in Ghent.

Our sister stations in Clarksburg, Charleston and Wheeling will also be collecting food, and the donations will be given to area food banks.

We encourage you to come out and help your neighbors in West Virginia.

Again, the drive will run from noon to 7 p.m. each day through Friday.
