W.Va. Education Board Leaders Re-Elected

CHARLESTON (AP) -

Wade Linger has been re-elected president of the state Board of Education.

Linger, who's been on the board since 2008, was elected president for 2012-13 at a meeting Thursday in Charleston.

An Air Force veteran trained as a computer programmer, Linger has spent much of his career in the fields of technology and research. He is a Charleston native and lives in Marion County.

The board also elected former first lady Gayle Manchin, wife of U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, to her second term as vice president. She was appointed to the board in 2007 for a 9-year term.

Robert Dunlevy from Ohio County was elected again as board secretary. He also serves on the School Building Authority and the Secondary School Activities Commission.
