A Mercer County man accused of murder and kidnapping makes an appearance in court.

Tracy Lee Atwell, 38, appeared before Judge Omar Aboulhosn Friday for a bond hearing.

His request for bond was denied.

Atwell is facing a laundry list of charges, including murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, concealment of a child and grand larceny.

Investigators said he murdered his wife Christina and left her body in an outbuilding.

According to state troopers, he then went to his parents Camp Creek home, tied them up, stole their Jeep Cherokee and kidnapped his 8-year old daughter, Porshia

This all occurred on April 12.

Atwell and Porshia were located in a wooded area not far from the scene on Saturday, April 14.

State troopers said Atwell had a history of domestic violence and intravenous drug use.

He is currently being held in the Southern Regional Jail without bond.

Prosecutors were also granted a motion for DNA testing Friday.
