Posted: Updated:

West Virginia group is getting nearly $260,000 in federal funding to help prevent homelessness among veterans in the state.

Sens. Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin announced the funding from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs' Supportive Services for Veteran Families program on Tuesday.

The funding is being awarded to the Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center Inc. in Charleston. With the grant money, the organization plans to continue to serve about 110 households in Kanawha, Cabell and Wayne counties.
