Emergency responders were called to the scene of a train accident on Monday, May 20. A person was apparently hit by a CSX train in a remote part of Fayette County. The call came in at around 1:30 p.m.
The victim was apparently covering her head with a blanket to shelter from the heavy rain storms.

A West Virginia senator who's long pushed parents, coaches and communities to help protect young athletes from concussions is now sponsoring federal legislation to set safety standards for helmets.
Correctional officers stopped an attempted escape by three inmates Tuesday night.
According to the West Virginia Division of Corrections, officers discovered around 11:30 p.m. that three inmates were not in their cells.
The prison implemented internal security officials and found the three inmates.
The division says that the three inmates had a plan to get out of the facility and breach the security fences of the complex.
The three were taken into custody by staff. Their names are not being released. The escape is being investigated internally and by the West Virginia State Police.
The inmates are being housed in segregation unit until charges are brought.
