The Raleigh County Sheriff's Deputies warn you about a scam in the area that could cost you THOUSANDS.

In this week's 59 News Crime Tracker Report - -

Raleigh County Sheriff, Steve Tanner is asking people all over Raleigh County and surrounding areas, to be on the look out for scam artists offering cheap services to pave your driveway.

He said right now officers do not know the name of the company or people involved in the scam.

But he said this group has been making there way all throughout Virginia and West Virginia and now are targeting our area.

"This blacktop is almost always cut with some type of distillate any number of things. so it smells right and it looks right but as soon as that first rain hit it goes off," Sheriff Steve Tanner said.

Sheriff Tanner said the best way to protect yourself is to ask for identification and ask to see the person's business license.
