GREENBRIER COUNTY -

Thirteen-hundred children are diagnosed with Type one diabetes every year.

It's also known as juvenile diabetes.

Here in West Virginia -- Camp Kno-Koma offers a place for children with the disease to receive education and motivation.

The camp offers the same activities for children as other summer camps, with the added element of medical staff to offer help and support with testing blood sugars and diet restrictions.

"Learning that they can also deal with their diabetes and do every day life activities and building new friendships with the kids," Wanda Marks, Board of Directors President said.

The kids at the camp even made posters about how they feel about diabetes.

The camp wraps up on Saturday.
