The Friends of Coal Ladies Auxiliary is raising awareness about coal at the Friends of Coal Auto Fair.

The group has been set up at the Paul Cline Sports Memorial Complex since Tuesday, selling coal-themed trinkets to raise awareness about the resource, and the important role the coal plays in powering America.

"We have everybody fighting against it. And we just feel as though if you knew the facts, you'd know why you need to get behind coal mining," said Regina Fairchild, the group's organizer.

Fairchild said assorted coal buckets, filled with various goodies, will be given away for $1 donations all weekend.
