Emergency responders were called to the scene of a train accident on Monday, May 20. A person was apparently hit by a CSX train in a remote part of Fayette County. The call came in at around 1:30 p.m.
The victim was apparently covering her head with a blanket to shelter from the heavy rain storms.

Authorities at the Beckley Correctional Facility are searching for a missing inmate. Joshua Greenwood was reported missing late Monday night. Guards say he was unaccounted for in a 10:15 p.m. head count.

Jackson County police are investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl who was left in a car after her family returned home from church.
Chief Deputy Tony Boggess tells the Charleston Daily Mail that the girl fell asleep during the ride home Sunday. He says a couple and several other children didn't realize she was still in the car until several hours later.
He didn't identify the girl or the couple. He didn't know if the couple were her parents or other relatives.
The National Weather Service says temperatures in the area would have been in the high 80s Sunday afternoon.
