Mother Nature's fury may have wiped out cows at a farm in Raleigh County during a storm on Monday.

21 cows were found dead under a tree at the Circle C Ranch near Farley Branch Road in Cool Ridge.

The owner believes lightning struck a tree and then the current electrocuted the animals. Only 3 cows were spared.

The cattle belonged to the Cook Brother Meat Company. Owners say they are going to hire a veterinarian to confirm that lightning was the cause of death, and then the animals will be buried.

No word on if insurance will cover the loss.
