OAK HILL -

Fayette County sheriff's deputies investigate an early morning shooting that sends one man to the hospital.

Josh Treadway, 27, of Oak Hill, was shot in the lower leg.   Sheriff's deputies were notified around 1:29 a.m., Monday, that Treadway was brought into Plateau Medical Center.

When deputies arrived, they learned Treadway had been shot 30 minutes earlier in the Ansted area.   Treadway told police who the suspected shooter was, but the name of that suspect is not being released at this time.

Treadway was transferred to Raleigh General Hospital where he underwent surgery.   The wound is not considered life-threatening but Treadway's condition is not known at this time.

When deputies left the hospital, they found and spoke with the suspect in the shooting as well as other potential witnesses.  They also checked the area where the shooting is reported to have happened for evidence.

No charges have been filed at this time.   Detective Corporal J.M Pack along with deputies N.D. Hall and G.W. Rinehart of the sheriff's office are investigating.
