CHARLESTON -

Governor Earl Ray Tomblin has ordered that all U.S. and state flags be displayed at half-staff, as a sign of respect for the victims of a shooting at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, WI.

The shooting happened Sunday morning, when police say Army Veteran Wade Michael Page opened fire with a .9 mm handgun, killing 6 people before being shot to death by police.

"The people of Oak Creek are in the thoughts and prayers of all West Virginians," said Gov. Tomblin in a press release. "Joanne and I offer our most heartfelt condolences to the friends and families of the victims during this very difficult time."

Flags in the state will remain at half-staff through sunset on Friday, August 10.
