Coach Dana Holgorsen is ramping up training camp as the first full week of practice continues.
The Mountaineers wore full pads for the first time on Tuesday.
Adding pads has increased the level of competition and the physicality at practice. That nearly led to some altercations during drills on Monday.
"We like it a lot. They brought it yesterday and it was fun, especially with us just putting the pads on. Everybody is getting tired of blocking without pads, now that we are getting the pads on there is some anger I guess," said wide receiver Ryan Nehlen.
"On the field, they are your opponent. We are not trying to all be friends. We are trying to make each other better. You push each other so far and there are going to be people not too happy about it. In the long run it helps," said defensive back Isaiah Bruce.
