The Beckley Police force picks up six men and six women who were selling and buying sex in Uptown Beckley.
The prostitution sting took up to four weeks to complete. Beckley officers used confidential informants in the process. The areas targeted where Johnstown Road, Kanawha Street, Second Street and Raleigh Hill.
For those working on busting the prostitutes, like Captain Jeff Shumate, it's a health issue which can lead to more violence. "People have complained this is occurring and this is a manner we have to go out and identify those people and prosecute them."

Raymond V. Edmonds, 41, from Raleigh, arrested for soliciting sex.
Dennis L. Adkins, 39, from Beckley, arrested for soliciting sex.
John D. Fuller 71, from Daniels, arrested for soliciting sex.
Ronald E. Dunn, 56, from Beckley, arrested for soliciting sex.
Timothy P. Smith, 31, from Beckley, arrested for soliciting sex.
Tammy L. Loyd, 33, from Beckley, arrested for prostitution.
Lisa M. Farmer, 48, from Beckley, arrested for prostitution.
Deanna K. Straub, 43, from Beckley, arrested for prostitution.
Bridget R. Sizemore, 37, from Beckley, arrested for prostitution.
Jamie L. Allison, 29, from Beckley, arrested for prostitution.
Kelly D. Garner, 35, from Beckley, arrested for prostitution.
Bridget Sizemore was the only one among the prostitutes pick up from police to have an active warrant out for her arrest and has a second offense for prostitution.
