MERCER COUNTY -
A murder that has gone unsolved for 17 months, is finally closed.
Two people are behind bars for the March 13th, 2011 alleged murder of Princeton man, Timothy DeWitt.
Mercer County Sheriff Don Meadows said DeWitt's body was discovered near the Bluestone Bridge a year ago.
Then it wasn't until the discovery of the murder weapon that investigators could link Tammy Keen and Thomas Hall, both of Princeton, to DeWitt's murder..
Seventeen months later officials are calling the arrests a huge victory.
"You get a lot of satisfaction when you clear up a case. But in this case it is for the family I am sure there were times when the family thought there would be nothing done about their loved one being killed. And we kept working on it and reassuring them we will find out what happened," Don Meadows, Mercer County Sheriff said.
Hall and Keen are being held in the Southern Regional Jail and are facing first degree murder charges, robbery and conspiracy charges as well.
Sheriff Meadows said the robbery was the motive behind the murder.
