CHARLESTON -

As hunting season approaches, West Virginia's Attorney General Darrell McGraw has announced plans to host a telephone-based town hall meeting to answer questions about hunting regulations and state gun laws.

The meeting, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, will also include representatives from the National Rifle Association, the West Virginia Sheriff's Association and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.

Participants will have the opportunity to address common questions as well as direct more specific questions to the panel of experts. Officials hope that having such an open dialogue can help individuals across the state remain safe, ethical and responsible hunters and gun owners.

"Knowing state laws and regulations regarding firearms is beneficial to everyone and is a topic that needs to be discussed to ensure the safety of gun owners and West Virginia Citizens," McGraw said in a press release. "Gun regulations change and it is our job to educate the people of our state in an effort to protect their rights."
