Verizon Wireless to expand 4G LTE network in Charleston area

CHARLESTON -

Verizon Wireless customers might notice some better service in the Charleston area.

The company announced it plans to expand its 4g Long Term Evolution network on August 16.

According to a press release, "The expansion of its 4G LTE network in the coming weeks will enable customers in more parts of Charleston to use their 4G LTE wireless devices to browse the Web, stream music and video, access thousands of applications, and stay in touch with family and friends, all with speeds up to 10 times faster than before."

Currently, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network is available in downtown Charleston and at Yeager Airport.

The expansion will give greater access to customers in South Charleston and also along the Interstate 64 corridor.
