Church Thefts on the Rise in Raleigh County

    Emergency responders were called to the scene of a train accident on Monday, May 20.  A person was apparently hit by a CSX train in a remote part of Fayette County.  The call came in at around 1:30 p.m.
    The victim was apparently covering her head with a blanket to shelter from the heavy rain storms.

Multiple church break-ins have been reported in Raleigh County.

Investigators are looking for suspects in at least three thefts from churches in the area.

The latest is a theft of a flat screen television and Blu-ray player from the Sophia Free Will Baptist Church on Wickline Avenue.

It happened during the early morning hours of June 12.
