One thing that draws people to the West Virginia State Fair from all over the country is harness racing.

Today was the first day to catch the racing.

Harness racing at the State Fair has been a fan favorite for decades and some of the racers said they've gotten hurt a countless number of times but it's just not something that they can give up.

Neal Damron said, "My favorite part about racing... the adrenaline rush. You're out there 30 miles an hour, horse nose right on the back of your helmet just hoping that nobody makes it bobble."

Damron and others say that the adrenaline rush is like no other feeling.

Harness racing at the state fair takes place every day at 1 p.m. at the grand stand.
