The State Fair of West Virginia is finding ways to help out needy people, while promoting one of their concerts.

They held a food drive to bring people to the Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. Concert at a discounted price.

Landau Murphy performed Sunday night at the fair and about 600 people got tickets through the food drive incentive.

Each person had to bring five items to one of three places around the state to get buy one get one free tickets.

The count at the fairgrounds was over one thousand items and they still have two others sites to total.

State Fair Manager Marlene Jolliffe said the food will most likely go to food banks in Greenbrier County that are still in need after the storm.

Jolliffe said, "Sunday when we got in and the box office opened people were already rolling in with canned goods so it really was a great effort and its always nice if we can do something for the community."
