HINTON -

Summers County High School has been around 18 years, and today, a group broke ground for a new auxiliary building.

The building will be funded by the state, through the Community Participation Projects.

"The auxiliary building will serve the needs of many groups in our school and community," said athletic director Wayne Ryan.

Delegate John O'Neal (R-Raleigh) spearheaded the project.

"This is a sound investment of taxpayers dollars, and it is exactly the kind of project that the legislature envisioned with he Community Participation Projects," he said.
