Bicycles would be allowed on new and existing trails in the New River Gorge under a rule proposed by the National Park Service.
The rule would authorize bicycle use on five new trails and 19 existing trails and administrative roads.
2 of the new trails are stacked loop systems, which have interconnected loops to provide varied routes, distances and destinations. The others would be converted from roads that are no longer used.
One track loop trail system has been built. The other new trails have been approved for construction.
