It may be even more difficult for women to lose weight and stay thinner after menopause.

A new study in the journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics shows that post-menopausal women have less energy and are more likely to lose their motivation after starting to lose weight.

They also have a decreased metabolic rate, and they release more appetite stimulating hormones.
