Bluefield College Drops Season Opener

In it's first game in 71 years, Bluefield College hit the gridiron.

The Rams fell to Pikeville, 42-28. They were tied 21-21 at half.

Josh Wells rushed for 89 yards on 24 carries. Wells added a touchdown.

Greg Hampton was 20/34 for 214 yards, along with three scores three interceptions. His primary target was Rodrell Smith, who hauled in seven passes for 77 yards. Two of those catches were for touchdowns.

Bluefield is now 0-1 and hosts No. 4 Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
