Beckley's Common Council meeting was expected to have fireworks from citizens wanting to know more about the investigation into the Beckley Police Department's evidence locker, but that wasn't the case on Tuesday evening.
When public comments were open to be made no one in the crowd of about 20 stepped up to the podium. The lack of questions and comments concerning the Beckley Police Department did surprise some.
Councilman At-Large, Cedric Robertson said he was expected more of a crowd, "well speaking with Chief Deems the investigation is just now starting so hopefully will get an update soon, but right now I'm just like the general public I don't know. I am concerned."
Beckley Mayor Emmett Pugh said the common council has been advised by the District Attorney office to not comment on the investigation until more can be determined.
