Standing in the WVU Football Hall of Traditions, Shane is already envisioning himself with a championship ring.

At 13 years old, this room is like the Mecca of dreams to this young football player. "I play quarterback and running back and center," he said.

And one unforgettable moment for Shane was the chance to walk out on the WVU field, and throw a ball around.

"My dream's finally come true," he said.

But another dream that hasn't come true yet for Shane is finding a permanent home.

"I want a family that loves me and shows care for me," he said.

Shane may have visions of football in his future, but he also has visions of what kind of parents he'd like.

"What do you want to find in a dad?" I asked him. "Outdoor kind of, and when he has time he can play a couple video games with me," he answered. "What about a mom?" "I could be like a momma's boy or something like that." "You want to be a momma's boy?" I asked him. "Yeah," he said with a smile.

Shane said the next time he comes out on this field he wants to be in uniform, playing. But he wants a family to share in his spotlight.

"What are the important things you want to do with a family?" I asked him. "I want to call them mom and dad and I want to make sure I love this family and this is the perfect family for me and I'm going to stay with them."

If you'd like to adopt Shane, or any other child in the Mountain State, call Mission West Virginia at 866- CALL MWV. Or you can send an email to http://adopt@missionwv.org.
