The WV Office of Miners Health Safety and Training has confirmed
a CONSOL Energy employee died Thursday at the Blacksville No. 2 Mine,
located in Greene County, PA.
CONSOL media officials say that William
Edward Mock, 61, sustained serious injuries when he was struck by a rock along
the track haulage. He was transported to an area hospital where he was
pronounced dead.
CONSOL Energy said it has notified state and federal mine safety
officials and is working closely with them to determine the cause of the
incident.
Monongalia County
EMS, along with Greene
County EMS,
responded to the scene.
CONSOL Energy isn't releasing any further details at this time.
