September is National Preparedness Month, and emergency leaders in Greenbrier County are making sure people are ready if disaster strikes.
The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is offering information on individual and community preparedness at a series of meetings held at locations through out Greenbrier County. They are also reviewing the successes and failures following the Derecho that left thousands of homes without power in July. People are asked to offer ideas on improvements as well as information on deficiencies that impacted communities.
Here is a list of the upcoming meetings:
Rainelle - City Hall on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.
Ronceverte - City Hall on Monday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.
Lewisburg - City Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m.
Rupert - Community Building on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m.
Alderson City Hall on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
