RONCEVERTE -
With so much money and hard work being put into Ronceverte over the past 10 years, Development Corporation officials are trying to get Ronceverte some national attention.
The newly painted buildings are being entered into a national contest to find the "Prettiest Painted Places in America."
While winners will be featured in a national publicity campaign, they are looking for local attention too.
Ronceverte Development Corporation President Sally Baker said, "We've done a lot of work over on Edgar, that's kind of hidden from all the cars going by on 219 so we think this will be a really great attraction to make people slow down, come around the corner, and see what we've got."
One of the painted buildings should be open for business in just a few weeks as a flower shop. The other two buildings will be home to a home security company and an ice cream parlor in the coming months.
Finalists in the competition will be announced this week and the winners will be recognized in October.
