The overnight situation had many people in the Rupert area terrified that the fugitive was heading for their homes and their families.
Some residents left their homes for the night and others boarded up their windows and slept with baseball bats.
Here's what some Rupert residents had to say when our reporter broke the news to them.
Robert Fulton said "I'm relieved. I've got two kids who go to school here and now that they're not under lock down, they can come back outside and play."
Heather Cochrum said, "Great job law enforcement, and thank you for capturing him."
