KY youth minister charged in internet child porn scandal

Kentucky State Police arrested a 29-year-old youth minister from Danville, Ky.

Jonathan David Hall is accused of sending sexually explicit email and text messages to a 15-year-old girl. He's charged with unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities, according to a news release from the State Police.

The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch made the arrest Tuesday. It came as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation, which involved a girl that Hall came in contact with through church, according to the news release.

The girl told detectives that she started communicating with the suspect after he sent her a text message, looking for another girl. The man claimed to be an 18-year-old University of Kentucky student named Zachary Blight Carter. She said their conversations quickly became sexual.

During the investigation, other nude photos of what appear to be juvenile girls were located according to the release. The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information about a person using the alias Zachary Blight Carter is asked to contact Detective Cassandra Mullins with the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch at 502-782-9769.
