A man wanted on felony drug charges out of Orange County, New Jersey was caught on a traffic violation in West Virginia.
Walter Delmond Johnson, 35, was stopped on Monday in Mt Hope for speeding. The officer checked with dispatchers when he noticed the driver was nervous and agitated. That's when they found out Johnson was wanted in the Garden State. Police said Johnson attempted to resist arrest, but was taken into custody.
Johnson was wanted on felony drug charges and resisting arrest. He also had a history of violence against law enforcement officers.
He has been on the run since 2008.
Johnson is being held in the Southern Regional Jail pending extradition.
