Richard Henry Ames, 23, was arrested Thursday.

Police said he robbed the Suntrust Bank in Roanoke, Va., Tuesday, leading them on a manhunt for more than 20 hours before he ended up behind bars.

In an exclusive interview Friday afternoon, Ames said he's innocent.

"I don't know who that is," Ames said.

He said he saw the pictures on television, but take a look at the photos and you can decide.

The man on the left is who police say robbed the Suntrust Bank in Roanoke Tuesday.

"Dude they got up there, he don't got no tattoos or nothing," Ames said. "I got tattoos everywhere."

On the right is Richard Ames, who is behind bars, facing several charges.

Ames was at a halfway house in Roanoke, but claims he has been in Greenbrier County for the past week.

This is not the first time Ames has been in trouble with the law.

U.S. Marshals said Ames is also wanted for a probation violation.

That came from a robbery conviction out of Chesapeake, Va. in 2010.

Ames was sentenced to 10 years in jail, but only served part of it before being released.
