Next Saturday, September 29th is the Drug Enforcement Administration's Drug Take Back Day and there are places to drop off those old pills safely.

The last take back day on April 28th, citizens turned in a record-breaking 276 tons of unwanted or expired medications for safe and proper disposal at the 5,659 take-back sites that were available in all 50 states across the U.S.

In Beckley the Raleigh County Commission on Aging will be collecting unwanted prescriptions. Fayette County will be collecting pills at the Oak Hill Police Department. In Mercer County the West Virginia State Police Detachment in Princeton will be open to safely dispose of unwanted pills. Wyoming County has three drop off locations, one at the Magic Mart in Oceana, and two at Rite Aid in Mullens and in Pineville. In Greenbrier County the sheriff's department will be collecting in Lewisburg.

The Drug Take Back Day will take place on Saturday, September 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
